Stump grinding is the most cost effective process of removing stumps after trees are removed. SPM has a self propelled stump grinder which can travel throughout a client’s yard with minimal impact and can access areas through gates or other obstacles as tight as 36”. The woody debris is ground out and removed so that soil can be backfilled into the hole and can become a usable part of your yard again. Stumps are typically ground down 6-8” below grade and the grindings are either backfilled into the hole or removed off site and the hole left to grade. Be sure to also ask about landscaping and re-planting options.

Stump Removal

In situations where a stump has uprooted and the area has become unusable stump removal may be the correct option. Stump removal is a process where SPM uses equipment to excavate the stump and major roots out and then bring in new loam and material to backfill the hole left behind. This process is also used in locations with larger stumps where the client’s goal is to plant a new tree right where the last tree was located.
